SORGHUM FARMING PROJECT
Sorghum has traditionally been used in food products and various food items such as Porridge, Unleavened Bread, Cookies, Cakes, etc. It has also been used as Animal Feed and used by t Brewing Industries and Confectioners for production of Alcoholic Beverages of Beer & Malted Drinks . Sweet Sorghum varieties are used to produce Syrup and Ethanol.
The Sorghum Farming Project will involve the preparation and cultivation of 600 hectares of Farmland initially to produce 20,000 tons per year of Sorghum Cereal Crops, employing over 800 worker. The Sorghum Farming Project will cost from $989,000 , covering the Cost of leasing Farm Land, CIF for the Farming Machinery, Support Equipment and Fertilizer as well as 3 months Start-up Operating Expenses.
Medium Scale Sorghum Farming Project capable of employing 7,000 workers to produce 80,000 tons of Sorghum Cereal Grains per year would cost from $8.2million, covering the Cost of Land, Farming Machinery and Equipment, Fertilizer, Project Infrastructure and 3 months Start-up Operating Expenses.
